High-Speed Fiber Coupled LED Illuminators provide intense, rapidly switchable illumination for demanding machine vision and analytical applications. By combining high-output LEDs with advanced thermal management, they deliver exceptional intensity at the liquid light guide output while supporting continuous operation. A powerful driver enables ultra-fast triggering with pulse widths down to 1µs, making these illuminators ideal for high-speed and stroboscopic imaging where precise temporal control is critical. High-Speed Fiber Coupled LED Illuminators are compatible with a range of liquid light guides and adapters, offering scalable configurations to meet varying system requirements. These illuminators feature wavelength options from UV through NIR and offer great flexibility for machine vision, spectroscopy, scientific imaging, and inspection applications.

Note: Liquid Light Guides are required for the operation of these illuminators.

High-Speed, High-Intensity Illumination: High Speed LED Fiber Coupled Illuminators are designed for applications that require a lot of light in a very short exposure time. Pulse widths down to 1µs make them well-suited for high-speed imaging and allow illumination to be triggered by a camera or other equipment. Efficient thermal management also supports stable output during continuous use.

Broad Wavelength Selection: Choose from UV, visible, NIR, and high CRI daylight white options to match the illumination to your application. UV wavelengths are useful for fluorescence and curing; NIR options support imaging beyond the visible spectrum; and high CRI white light is a good choice when accurate color reproduction is important.

Common Applications:

  • High-speed imaging
  • Machine vision and inspection
  • Fluorescence microscopy
  • Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV)
  • UV curing
  • Hyperspectral imaging
  • Time-gated measurements

Liquid Light Guide Compatibility: Each illuminator requires a compatible 3mm or 5mm liquid light guide adapter and liquid light guide, sold separately. Standard fiber bundle light guides should not be used due to the high temperatures generated at the light guide entrance.

How do I clean the device?

Dust filter mats are located behind the fan cover grids. If the filters become blocked by dust, carefully clean them using a vacuum cleaner on a low power setting. Alternatively, the fan covers can be removed to clean the filter mats outside of the device. For replacement filter mats, contact lightsource.tech.

How do I troubleshoot the device?

If the device is not operating as expected, check the following:

  • Confirm the device is receiving power by checking the emission light and fans.
  • Verify that the device is properly set up.
  • Ensure the light guide is properly inserted.
  • Confirm the correct operating mode is selected.
