Product Family Description

  • 25m Large Roll Formats for Volume Applications
  • MaxiBlack™, Metal Velvet™, or Spectral Black™ Coatings
  • Standard, Low Outgassing, or No Adhesive Options
  • Die Cut Lables and Smaller Sheet Sizes Available

Acktar Light Absorbent Foil and Film Rolls feature MaxiBlack™, Metal Velvet™, and Spectral Black™ light absorbent coatings on large 25m rolls. Acktar black coatings are used in optical applications to reduce stray light, improve signal to noise ratio, and eliminate unwanted reflections. These completely inorganic coatings have wideband performance from the UV to IR, a broad operating temperature range, high vibration stability, and low outgassing. Acktar Light Absorbent Foil and Film Rolls are ideal for volume applications in aerospace, automotive, defense, and remote sensing where large areas require blackening.

Acktar Light Absorbent Foil and Film Rolls are offered in Metal Velvet (diffusive coating on aluminum), Spectral Black (semi-specular coating on aluminum), or MaxiBlack (diffusive coating on polyimide). Metal Velvet offers superior light absorption performance while Spectral Black is more durable. Maxiblack, in addition to being durable and flexible, is nonconductive and can be used in applications that require light absorbing materials with no electrical conductivity.
